the project is in a financing search phase. the aim is to achieve a scalable industrial process so that this project can be replicated around the world so that these neo-materials can be produced locally.

after being displayed on several platforms including the Milan Design Week (as explained on the next page), it became clear the potential of this entrepreneurship.

the project is in search of industrial, financial, and commercial allies to generate a real impact in these communities as well as the environment.

a social entrepreneurship that develops bio-based alternative materials using agricultural waste from cacao crops.

this project is being developed under LAKO Studio, of which the owner of this portfolio is a co-founder.

LAKO Studio aims to confront complex socio-environmental problems and project viable solutions under human-centered design, circular design, generative design, and complex system analysis guidelines.

the kajkao project has been the main focus of the studio for the past four years and has grown to become a startup that has developed an array of materials derived from cacao waste under the same no-waste, cascade-like line of production.

these alternative materials are plant-based leather, bioplastic, fine-grain chipboard, and coarse-grain chipboard.
